DIY Star Wars Snowflakes
by Chaunce Dolan on Friday, December 17th, 2010
With winter upon us, we thought it would be fun to share a fun project of ours with you: snowflake designs with a Star Wars twist.
Last year’s wild success with our original designs prompted us to spend some time this year polishing those designs and coming up with some new ones. We had so much fun in fact that there are 19 new designs altogether. Download the Collection.
We also took some of your feedback and made the grey in the templates a little darker hoping they will print out better for everyone.
If you like Star Wars stuff, you might enjoy our Star Wars ringtones as well.

Directions
- Click Diagram link to download the PDF (or download the Collection)
- Print the PDF
- Cut the circle out
- Fold the diagram. We found doing a accordion fold worked better for us.
- Cut the grey area out (you may need an Exacto knife for some of the designs)
- Unfold and hang!
Thanks To
Anthony Herrera Designs – has more Star Wars Snowflake designs
Husband and wife – whom we got the original idea from

that is sooooooooooo coool!
Thanks. Any favorites? Have you made any of them yet?
We have a whole bunch of them up at the office
How about Yoda, Chewie, and an ewok??
I would love to see some some of these too…any chance?
Ditto! Yoda and some Ewoks would look awesome all over my dorm room!
soooo cute, but when i try to print, nothing comes out on the paper, maybe because they are grey??? any tips, anyone? I know there is ink in my cartridge, I just used it last night…
I like these kind of snowflakes better than the COLD ones here in Utah. Great idea and “cool” doesn’t have to mean temperature.
OMG THESE AR SOOO FLIPPIN COOL! I loooove the storm trooper! These are going all over my office at work
THank you SO Much!
Glad you enjoyed them. We had a bunch of them up last year and will be hanging a bunch more this year as well. I might even make a couple new designs if I can find the time.
Do it! Do it! Do it! We’re going to hang them all over our office. More designs would be GREAT!
THESE ARE SO DAMN PERFECT!
I just made these for my star wars obsessed boyfriend for a surprise in his room. took forever and its kind of difficult to get the little pieces out without a SUPER sharp exacto knife but it’s SO worth it!
I’m going to make a bunch of these and place them all over the apartment. The boyfriend has no say in the matter.
That is awesome !!!
Suggestion:make some more,!!
If you have suggestions of characters that you want to see, let me know and I will see what I can do
What about a little Millenium Falcon? I think that would be rad coming off the rebel insignia.
Also:
Emporer’s Royal Guard
Jabba
Cad Bane
Ewok
AT-ST
Fantastic!!! My Star Wars obsessed family will love these. I’m going to make a bunch and hang them on our patio doors!
This is so cool! Someone posted this on the Mandalorian Mercs forum and I shared it on my profile on facebook
This gives me ideas…
Do you ave the link? We would love to thank them
I would love a Yoda one!!!! I have already created a couple, I’m definitely going to be making a ton of these for the holidays.
Yoda is available now
My boys will LOVE these Thanks.
Would love to see a template for a Snowtrooper snowflake. Appropriate, no?
This would be perfect to decorate Scott’s office.
AWESOME!!! These are going all over my house!!!
Most impressive and VERY cool. Suggestions: Yoda, C3PO, (R2D2 – though i’m sure that one could be extremely difficult).
Nicely done bro! Might make that a project with the boys. Hope all is well with you!
awesome! found you through pinterest!
These are just too cool! Know several people who would some some of these. But I have a problem only 2 of them would open to download. Has anyone else had this problem? Or is it just something with my computer. I’ll try again later and maybe it will work then. I got Boba and Darth Vader to open, but that’s it. Thanks, these are great!
It may be some error on your end. I was able to download all 4
I found that if I came here and downloaded one, got out, came back and downloaded another it worked. Just couldn’t download them all in one visit. Who knows what that is about, but I finally did get them downloaded.
Check out my attempt: http://www.facebook.com/paperockit.
I didn’t quite finish cuz I didn’t have an exacto handy, but was still fun.
It would be the bee’s knees if you could make rebel alliance ones to couple with these.
I am working on a couple ideas right now. *Fingers crossed*
I made the stormtrooper as soon as I saw this. Yoda please!
These are fab!!! I just made some for my son’s room and he was extremely surprised and LOVES them. I didn’t use and exato knife for the small areas, I just cut over from another area, and it worked just as well. Thanks so much for making this available… I have my own snowflakes hanging all over the rest of the windows in our house and this was just perfect for his room!
GREAT designs. Very cool. Putting them into the laser for some Imperial Holiday cheer!
Neat additional work done at http://anthonyherreradesigns.com/ too

Know what? I think I’ll run a bunch of these and mail them out. What’s your mailing address?
You have the “husband and wife” contact info? Can’t find any email link on their original website.
I don’t, sorry
My brother and sister-in-law happen to be the “husband and wife” you are referring to.
I don’t think she would want her contact info posted online, but you can contact her through her Flickr page:

My son is thrilled!! Thanks so much!!!
Star Trek and Dr. Who? How about Superman and Spiderman?
this is perfect for my son’s december birthday! i wanted to decorate with snowflakes, but he wants a star wars party – so now we both get just what we wanted. thanks!
Hilarious! I found patterns for some of these online last year got extremely excited and spent a few hours making my own designs too. I have R2D2, Princess Leia, Yoda, Chewy etc Just the other day I framed them in shadow boxes matted on bright colors. They look amazing. I also made a Death Star but that is definatly not a snowflake
Hi I would love to have the vector files for these star wars snowflakes but I don’t see where to download them on the site and I don’t understand the language. would you email them to me .
thank you Pat
This is such a cool thing to make Star Wars-inspired snowflakes. I downloaded the files and made them into vector graphics and then cut them with a laser cutter. You can see the video and download the vector files from http://goo.gl/5whcX
This is amazing! Love that you have a tool like that to make them look so perfect… super jealous!
Wow- the laser cutouts are so slick!
This is Great!!!
Thanks
These are so awesome! Thanks for sharing!
Here’s an R2-D2 to go with the C3PO.

It’s been posted here! Thanks for sharing the design. It looks awesome
Thanks, and thanks for collecting these together. You’ve inspired my son to do his own (first on the wish list…Harry Potter).
And since I’ve seen some people say that some of these can’t be done, even with a craft knife:
https://plus.google.com/108282234517665446475/posts
I did all of these with a pair of large kitchen shears and a standard utility knife. Going to get a good slim x-acto and put more detail on my R2 (he is suspiciously Dalek-like at the moment).
Awesome! Where’s Yoda????
Right between R2 and Akbar
Can’t wait to try these!!
So, since I did the first two I spent the day cutting out all the rest I could find…. I am so addicted… Who cares if my son likes them, I love them!!!
Added a slew of new designs. Enjoy!
Thank you! My boys and I LOVE these!!
Awesome! I am so glad that I found your templates yesterday. I am a Middle School art teacher and usually teach all of my classes how to make snow flakes at this time of year. I happened to make your Storm Trooper flake yesterday and it inspired me to come up with some of my own designs. I made an Optimus Prime flake (awesome) and a big rack buck flake as well. I am about to print several of you plans because I just showed them to my 6th graders and they all want to make Star Wars snow flakes now!!!
We would love to see pictures once you and your class have finished them
Post them on our FB wall – http://www.facebook.com/mattersofgrey
Ahsoka! My daughter loves Ahsoka–I just printed off the template so I hope to surprise her
Good ole Snips, such a great character
These are wonderful. Thanks so much for sharing.
AWESOME!!!
Fabulous, fabulous. I just posted these patterns to my blog and plan to make them this weekend.
happy holidays.

I love these- I did the Storm Trooper & Yoda one – I am going to Glitter them up attach to cardstock and make Christmas cards out of them

Chewie, ewok and a jawa would be awesome
Uhmazing… my son will love these so much. Thank you!!
This is absolutely the most amazing thing I’ve seen in months. We do an ornament exchange in the family every eyar. My best snipping scissors and craft knife are coming out tonight, and my brother in law is going to have the coolest ornement EVER from some awesome felt I’ve got. THANK YOU
