DIY Star Wars Snowflakes

Star Wars Snowflakes - Download the CollectionWith winter upon us, we thought it would be fun to share a fun project of ours with you: snowflake designs with a Star Wars twist.

We created the original set of designs in 2010 and now have the largest collection of designs and templates on the internet. With The Force Awakens opening in December, the latest installment of the Star Wars film series inspired us to create new designs such as the BB-8 and Kylo Ren. We had so much fun in fact that there are 33 designs altogether. Download the Collection.

Please share these on your networks using the hashtag #starwarssnowflakes and our handle @mattersofgrey. These are unofficial and for non-commercial use. Please provide a link credit where appropriate.

If you like Star Wars stuff, you might enjoy our Star Wars ringtones as well.

  1. This is such a cool thing to make Star Wars-inspired snowflakes. I downloaded the files and made them into vector graphics and then cut them with a laser cutter. You can see the video and download the vector files from

    1. This is amazing! Love that you have a tool like that to make them look so perfect… super jealous!

    2. Wow- the laser cutouts are so slick!

  2. Hilarious! I found patterns for some of these online last year got extremely excited and spent a few hours making my own designs too. I have R2D2, Princess Leia, Yoda, Chewy etc Just the other day I framed them in shadow boxes matted on bright colors. They look amazing. I also made a Death Star but that is definatly not a snowflake

    1. Hi I would love to have the vector files for these star wars snowflakes but I don’t see where to download them on the site and I don’t understand the language. would you email them to me .

      thank you Pat

  3. this is perfect for my son’s december birthday! i wanted to decorate with snowflakes, but he wants a star wars party – so now we both get just what we wanted. thanks!

  4. Star Trek and Dr. Who? How about Superman and Spiderman?

  5. My son is thrilled!! Thanks so much!!!

  6. You have the “husband and wife” contact info? Can’t find any email link on their original website.

    1. My brother and sister-in-law happen to be the “husband and wife” you are referring to.
I don’t think she would want her contact info posted online, but you can contact her through her Flickr page:

  7. Know what? I think I’ll run a bunch of these and mail them out. What’s your mailing address?

  8. GREAT designs. Very cool. Putting them into the laser for some Imperial Holiday cheer!

Neat additional work done at too

  9. These are fab!!! I just made some for my son’s room and he was extremely surprised and LOVES them. I didn’t use and exato knife for the small areas, I just cut over from another area, and it worked just as well. Thanks so much for making this available… I have my own snowflakes hanging all over the rest of the windows in our house and this was just perfect for his room!

  10. I made the stormtrooper as soon as I saw this. Yoda please! :)
