    Hey all,

    I'm working on this badge. I'll try to post some venues once I get the badge. I've checked into 6 of the NYPL venues and still nothing. Hopefully we'll get some venues up soon.

    I wouldn't go crazy yet. There are no unlocks on Twitter. Either it isn't active yet or it may be one of those one-checkin-per-day badges.

    The "Find the Future Centennial" badge is what's listed in the NYPL press release, but when it went live in the trophy case it was shortened to just NYPL Centennial.

    I just noticed that it's actually named the "NYPL Centennial Badge" in the foursquare system, making it the only one to include the word "badge" in the name. This should create some interesting tweets when it actually starts unlocking. "I just unlocked the "NYPL Centennial Badge" badge on @foursquare!"

    There are 91 NYPL venues. There is a character limitation in the forums so I couldn't list all the venues. According to NYPL's website, you can earn the badge by checking in at the following NYPL locations on foursquare: http://www.nypl.org/press/press-release/2011/03/30/nypl-and-foursquare#locations

    *****Note that only one check-in per day counts towards the badge.

    Well after you get the badge and they have that offer about the free NYPL Foursquare Friends Membership; if you goto the page and fill it out they actually send you the membership card and newsletter. I just got mine today i unlocked it on Mar 31, 2011 so it takes about just over 2 months to get it but they will send it. Just wanted to let everyone know incase u unlocked the badge and signed up for the membership and hadn't gotten anything yet.

    Yes but @Tymora indicated on July 5th it was retired, which is 6 days after you unlocked it. And if you notice the comments above, it stated it was going to be active through 6/30, so your 6/29 unlock falls in that time frame. The badge hasn't been unlocked since 6/30, and people have tested it since to see if it would unlock with no success. It is retired.

    why is the NYPL Centennial Badge on the active list but in the forums its in the retired list so its retired and Active at same time?

    You may be looking at a cached version of the page. I am seeing it under the retired section. But thank you for the heads up, I doubled checked.
