Has anyone here ever been threatened by another 4SQ user for 'jumping'? I got the message from one of my so-called 4SQ friends today:

'If you continue jumping, I will lock your account. Consider yourself reported now.'

I deleted this person from my friends list. I check in using the 4SQ mobile web...no third party apps. Will my account be closed because of this?

@Jay339 - this goes back to our continued warnings about who you have on your friends list. My suggestion is to only be friends with people you know and trust, especially if you are a jumper. If you have actually been reported to 4sq, then there is a good possibility that your account could be disabled. Re-enabling your account could take weeks to months.

I just don't see the big deal about jumping as people enjoy it and it gives 4sq more hits and usage. If they really want to know who's jumping they don't need tattle-tales, just look what people earned Paris, London and Istanbul in 2 days; or Atlanta/Singapore in one. 99% chance it's a jumper...

@Brandon thanks for the information. It plan on doing a 'friend house cleaning' and remove all the shady characters from my friends list. Hopefully I still have an active 4SQ account going into the new year.

@jimmyongah @MartininBrussels I noticed that too looking at his badge list. I don't understand the big deal in jumping. People that complain about it are just jealous they don't know how to do it. I don't care how other people earn their badges. It only helps the rest of us in tips on how to unlock them.

I have suggested, that if you are going to 'jump' make it look good. It's not hard to find the jumpers. Just check their times, and either they own a fleet of extreamly fast jets and have more money than Donal Trump, or they are cheating at jumping. Oh and they seldom check in at airports, which is what you would do if you reaaly went there.

And just to be sure everyone understands me, I have nothing against anyone or what they do (except reporting people for having fun). Foursquare calls this a game, and I view it as such. I'm lucky (or not) and I spend a ot of time in the air as I fly as crew for some very rich people. I get to pick the flights I want and I can work while flying so it's double productive for me.

But guys, it's pretty clear when one checks in at L.A. and then two hours later in Paris. I'd love to have a list of those that file reports on others (enough said). Jimmy (love your avitar), let's do lunch next year somewhere.

Foursquare is a social network and this is how I spend part of my time socializing. It's nice to meet people outside my personal life. I learn different views and I find a few I like to share things and chat with. It's pretty much the same as 70 years ago when people used to write stranges and make a friendship.

I understand that 4sqr is a social networking site, but personally it is easier for me to use facebook to network. As far as making friends outside of facebook, I just try to use message boards to socialize. All of this is just my personal preference, I am not trying to question anyone else. So please don't take my comment above about 4sqr friends negitavely.

If we can chat so open and friendly with each other in this forum but at 4sq, it seem we don't trust each other anymore. truly it makes me sad and little disappointed. i mean like in real life how can you be so trusted someone; let's say your best friend. what makes you believe that someone can be trusted? how do you know precisely when or where that a person you trusted not turn back on you? i can guarantee no one can make sure about this so i'm really never worried for anyone that already friend of mine at 4sq before.....and if in the future one my friend at 4sq threatened or report me and so my acc got flag, i'll try to deal with courage and get through the situation just like in my real life.....just some thought from me :-D

I just don't understand how can you flag someone, never knew that could be done anymore.

Maybe they felt they had to "do something" because a complaint was made. I deal with the crap at work. I've been written up because I gave a customer a packet of salt and not my personal salt shaker. I believe the technical term for this is called "folding like a cheap lawn chair". Still...totally inane.
