We hope so! I've been monitoring twitter all morning to see if it's unlockable yet. Nothing so far. I'm sure as soon as it becomes active, @JR1 will be on top of it. He seems to know the quickest, but I am monitoring as well, from work. Shhhh....don't tell my boss ;-)

Anyone having any luck with this? I originally tried USC, did 15 venues, no luck. So I deleted them all and have moved to try this one. 12 venues (6 previous, 6 today) no unlock.

I can say, I deleted my ASU badge, and the USC one popped. I'm not sure if this means what he says, or if only the ASU one is blocking things.

idk. I'm going to "fly" back to Texas A&M and see if I can get that one. If I can, I know I'm good, and it's ASU that blocks others. If not, and you're ASU doesn't work, then we know you're only allowed one. In which case, I'm holding out for the Oregon Ducks

If this is a matter of choice, this really sucks and makes no sense. Everybody can go to whatever number of colleges they want to. And, let's be real, badges are not that relevant in real life, except for us, who really enjoy having them. So, why did they decide to be so strict about the college badges right now? Ridiculous and unnecessary. Shame on foursquare people.

I can confirm the choice as of now. I "flew" to ASU and checked back in to the venue I previously deleted which unlocked it before, and no badge, because I have the USC one.

So, my friends, that's it. they are trying to be difficult. In that case, I'll keep the little devils one and forget about the other college overrated badges. We really have the ones that really matter: Harvard and Syracuse ;). Or I could choose to uninstall foursquare... that would save me lots of time and effort spent with these badge quests lol

I was able to get it to unlock without having other campus badges. I'm holding out for Oregon, love the Ducks.

Update for everyone: It is comfirmed that you can only get one of the new college badges. I had the ASU badge deleted then was able to get the USC badge then tried to get the ASU badge back and could not get the badge back, and then I deleted the USC badge and was able to unlock the Texas A&M badge. Then tried theASU badge again and it would not unlock then either. So at least for now you can only unlock one of the college badges at a time. As for the unlock instructions from messaging a few ppl that have unlocked the badges everyone i have talked to has checked in before today and got the badge on their 1st checkin today. None of them had the ASU badge and only tried for one of the college badges that came out today. It seems to look like it will take between 7-12 checkins to get the badges. Have to do some testing to figure this all out. But it is definately confirmed that you can only get 1 of the new college badges. Hopefully they change that at somepoint.

That is correct... Also the same will apply to all badges released in the university 2.0 program. So there are over 12 more college badges coming out that we know of so far and they will be in the same group as the 3 that are out now. So decide what college badge you want and get it now if it is out or wait for it to come out and get it then.

I have to say that I understand where 4sq is going here. I remember a tweet from them around Super Bowl time that said something to the effect that you can only root for one team. Pick your favorite... I have... GO CAL GOLDEN BEARS! I would happily delete Stanford to get the Cal badge.

The college badges from last year can stay. It's only the new ones ( university 2.0 program) that you can only get one of. So you can keep those 3 and get one of the new ones. I agree with the thought behind why they only are letting people get one badge. But I do have one issue with it and that is over a college career some people goto more then one school and if i went to multiple schools i would like to have a badge for each of them. I sent 4sqr a tweet asking them that ? and have not heard back form them yet.

So, this situation about the college badges really sucks. I can't agree with you. You can root for many teams as you like or wish. You can go to one or several colleges at a certain point in your life. It's not impossible nor forbidden! And in Foursquare case, THE FOURSQUARE CREATORS ARE TOTALLY AWARE OF OUR EXISTENCE, meaning they know that we, badge-lovers, exist and we don't really care about the teams or the colleges themselves (I speak for myself, so don't be upset, people!). But we really really love badges and we do whatever it takes to unlock and have them. They are like special prizes that we are pride to show off and carry around. I am very upset about this unnecessary and ridiculous rule, for there aren't any prizes or contests or money or anything like that involved! I just wanted to have them all and that doesn't harm anyone. Totally disapointing. It makes you think you are wasting your time with this whole thing.
