    Just saw someone check-in to other venue in NY but shouted "Foursquare Hackathon 2013" also got the badge. Don't know if this badge unlocks worldwide or NY area only.

    Checked in twice, two different locations, and nothing on the screen, but did get an email notification of new badge (from first checkin) and it showed up on the badge list

    This morning in the Philippines, Dec. 6 my friend got the badge, I tried it now at 6pm, no badge. Could be the badge is already retired.

    Your 6pm is 6am NY time but Dec 6 already. Hackathon on Dec 5 which is yesterday.

    Could be Hackathon is a one day event only, when my friend unlocked the badge it is still Dec. 5 in NY.
