Here is our list of suggested or hopeful Foursquare badges. We took many ideas and created the name, how to unlock, and message for them. Let us know what you think or if you have any new suggestions.

A military brat badge! So many check ins @ posts or bases. HOOAH! Support the troops! ARMY STRONG!
Heck yes! I suggested this one to foursquare! Any base check-in like, 10-15 times a month! Go Navy!
A Christmas 2010 badge! Under message it could read, “I saw Mother kissing Santa Claus”, under unlock it could read, “Check into your home between midnight and 3am Christmas morning while your putting the kids toys together”. Or something like that!
Great idea. I am fairly certain that Foursquare will release holiday badges of some sort. I would also expect some sort of New Years Swarm badge
There is a badge “Super Mayor” for 10+ mayorship…how about the mileage badge for the badges we’ve unlocked…one badge for 50+ badges unlocked, 100+, 150+ and so on…:)
Or another badge for 500+ check-ins, 1000+, 1500+ and so on…:)
let’s up the swarm family badges to 1500 or 2000…looks like many events in some countries can easily grouped 1000 foursquare users at a venue in a single period,with more & more foursquare users start signing up…Epic swarm has become obsolete…super Epic swarm is what we are looking for right now…!
Four ideas came to me this morning:
Globe Trotter Badge – for checking in on at least three continents
Site Seer Badge – 10X at monuments/landmarks
Bachelor Party – Like the poor decisions badge but require a night of bars of strip clubs (lets say 1 bar, 1 strip club) followed by a religious building check in within 7 days.
Holy Roller Badge – Check in at church or religious institution 4 times in 30 days.
I LOVE: Hypocondrac, Mayor Thief, Chris Hansen, Sushimi & Lost.
For the tattoo one, I think the symbol should be something different. Maybe a heart that says mom. I didn’t realize it was a tat gun until I read the description.
I think there should be a 1000th check in badge.
My wife signed us up for a tour of a haunted Sanatorium in Louisville this summer and I thought of this badge last night:
Ghost Hunter – check in at 20 locations tagged “haunted”
State parks. Museums. State historic sites. These sort of places have already been designated, so are naturals for badges.
I don’t get the “Impeacher” badge. Please explain.
Mayor Thief is when a user ousts mayors 10 times. Impeacher is the same thing but 50 times.
More Midwestern opportunities. More rural options. (And don’t use “cow tipping”!)
1. Mall Rat – Check-in 3X at 3 different sites tagged ‘mall’
2. Eat Fresh – Check-in 5X at sites tagged vegan/vegetarian (or at Subway)
Great ideas. I love the tattoo badge, rabbit food and gone postal the best. How about a “homebody” badge for a bunch of check-ins to one’s residence?
I like the mayor thief and sports nut badges. How about a badge for the coming chinese new year? 2011 year of the rabbit.
To unlock the badge, you need to checkin on Feb 3 with a shout out: “kung hei fat choi!”

Post Master- 10x in 1 month to the same “Post Office” or 100x all time to different Post Offices. “You’ve got mail!”
Boston specifics like:
Freedom Trail- visit 10 places on the Boston Freedom Trail.
“Ben Franklin would be proud. Grab a nice bowl of Chowda @ Quincy Market and warm up.
T-Party – 5x check ins on the GREEN, BLUE, RED, & ORANGE lines. (Boston T)
“Ain’t no party like the Boston T Party” Now go try for the Duck Boat badge.
Outside Providence – check into Brown University
Post Master- 10x in 1 month to the same Post Office OR 100x check ins all time to any venue tagged Post Office.
“You’ve got mail!”
UMASS Amherst specific:
UMASS Explorer- Check into the 5x different Locations on the UMass campus.
“They may call us Minutemen, but it takes FOREVER to get to the other side of campus!”
SAM Spotter- check into 3x different sports events on campus. (ex. 1 @ Garber Field, 1 @ McGuirk Stadium, & 1 @ Mullins Center)
“You’ve seen Sam The Minute Man! Now give him a hug and friend him on facebook!”
Maroon Platoon- Check in 10x @ the Mullins Center.
“…&$%# ‘em up. &%$# ‘em up. Go U MASS!”
Good Study Habits- 25x Check ins to W.E.B. Du Bois Library.
“Welcome to the Tallest Red Brick Library in the world! You’re getting a lot of ‘work’ done aren’t you?”
Boston specifics:

Connecticut Specific:
Huskies- Check in 5x to a UCONN Huskies Basketball game (girls or guys) @ Harry A. Gampel Pavilion & shout “UCONN” or “Go Huskies”
“UConn Husky, symbol of might to the foe.
Fight, fight Connecticut, It’s vict’ry, Let’s go…”
The Wailer- Check in to Hartford Civic Center and shout “Bring back the Whale!”
Charlotte, NC Specfic:
Cat’s Meow- Check into Bank of America Stadium and Time Warner Cable Arena.

(honestly…. these guys could really use the publicity)
RELIGIOUS ZEALOT – crazy person who visits a church 5 times in a week
DEGENERATE GAMBLER – 5 casino trips in a week
mountain goat is also a great idea with a hilarious badge i imagine
NYC FLEET WEEK 2011 – A badge that is unlocked by checking into five different venues or events held during Fleet Week 2011 in NYC! Venues include the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, other visiting Navy ships, attractions like the Concorde and Growler Submarine, local businesses like H&H Bagels, and neaby public venues like the park at Pier 84!
Alcoholic – 100 check ins to bars, pubs or off licenses
how about one for video games like if you check into gamestop 5 times or any other video game related location
i think u should earn a badge for each state and country you go too!
I love the Chris Hansen badge. If only you could incorporate Sweet Tea into the badge. Every time the perp walks into the house the child is always making Sweat Tea, I swear!
I would love to have badges for total check in 2500 times- Amateur/Jogger, 5000 times-champion/marathon and of course 10000 times-president/royal/king for male/queen for female.
i think there should be a breast cancer badge that would be so awesome.
500 days checked in badge. Would like to see more foursquare loyalty badges. Ones that are hard to get and take some time.

It is highly unlikely that Foursquare will ever re-release old badges. A good idea, but I don’t see it happening
How about foursquare making their swarm badges as expertise badges? Imagine all the different swarm, super swarm, etc opportunities being rewarded with levels up!
Once upon a time foursquare had a ‘mile high’ badge – I’m not seeing it here. Was that retired at some point?

I agree with the World Traveler one…something like Stamp that Passport for checking in to 5 different countries or something! Fun.
