Minimalist Movie Car Posters
by Robert Cruz on Friday, February 17th, 2012
When I take some time to reflect on the things I’m into, I’ll say things like, cars, movies, art, and geek culture. As time has gone on I’ve learned to particularly appreciate minimalist art. The reason being is because they look clean, are usually clever, fun to figure out what they represent, and they have a tendency to evoke emotions or memories when it all comes together.
It turns out a great guy named Kevin has taken the liberty of merging these things that I enjoy in the form of minimalist prints at incredibly reasonable prices. The prints combine the silhouette of a car, colors and sometimes an icon representative of the movie or tv show the vehicle stars in. How many do you recognize and which ones are your favorites?
Pick some up for $10 each at MovieCarPosters.com!
Challenge 1: Name each movie or TV show
Challenge 2: Provide the year, make and model of the vehicle (if available)

#46 is pretty sweet
I think I know more than I don’t know…clever

Just some minor fyi….
Although they are very easy mistakes to make, (and I almost made them myself) at just a quick glance, there are a few above that jump out at me
- The Cannonball Ambulance has to be a “Sportsman” (not a Tradesman). The “Tradesman” was designed for those who worked a trade (be it construction, plumping, delivery, what have you) and thus did not have the side windows.
The “Sportsman” had the horizontal windows.
- The color of the The AMC pacer from Wayne’s World is
”7D Powder Blue”. That color wasn’t offered in ’76, but it was offered in ’77.
- The Transformers semi can’t be a “Tanker” truck.
“Tankers” are round and are meant for hauling fluids.
