OVER. A Simple Typography & Photo Sharing iOS App {App Review}

Why We Love OVER
As you know, we are all about the up and coming apps and we also love good typography. Well, OVER is an outstanding app that combines good photography with great typography. OVER is a natural extension to the growing popularity of photo sharing apps. It makes me wonder why something like this wasn’t a part of the initial Instagram app or similar apps, but luckily it wasn’t because it allowed OVER to come in and start growing it’s foothold in the app store. They mix the beauty of typography with the ease of new web 2.0 applications. And their choice of fonts is fantastic.
The app comes with 25 free type faces upon download, including some from one of our favorite font foundry’s. And for those of you that want to become power users, there are 200+ more fonts available for you to purchase within the app for only $.99 cents!
OVER not only combines beautiful photography with typography, but we love the user experience. The simplicity of the right side wheel navigation makes OVER extremely user friendly. They support all of the major social networks, so connecting and sharing is simple. In our book, we approve the OVER message. Ease of use, minimal simplicity, and beautiful type are the reasons why this app gets a 5 star rating.

Thank you, THANK YOU! I had a friend of mine who was using a different app for captioning photos… hot pink Papyrus & Comic Sans. It was almost too much to bear. There is a lot of crap out there in terms of photo captioning apps. Found this and even though it’s $2, it’s TOTALLY worth it. The developers did a good job a curating the type collection. Only a few in the 200+ types slipped through (Markerfelt & Party LET), but I’m glad to see Comic Sans and Papyrus didn’t make the cut!
Oh, now I’ve done it. Had been looking for the best font app for my images. Should have started my timer, too much fun! #productivityfail
