V Is For Vader – Learning The Alphabet With Star Wars
by Andy Morales on Thursday, June 7th, 2012
A is for Ackbar, B is for Bossk, and C is for Chewie and C-3PO. When you were a kid you learned the alphabet, and at some point in your life you probably learned about Star Wars. Created a few years back, by husband and wife Brandon and Emily Peat, this collection of characters were sketched in pencil and then completed in Illustrator.
With the goal of decorating their new baby’s room, the Peat’s designs would be a great way of learning the alphabet. Rather than creating nightmares of Darth for their child (like I used to have growing up), they made these drawings cute and loveable.
Selecting each letter was a lengthy process. The characters who made the cut are primarily from the Original Trilogy (no Prequel characters here!), with a few from the Expanded Universe of books, comics, and video games. We also tried to keep the illustrations as non-violent as possible (in the words of Wuher, “No blasters!”) for maximum kid-friendliness.
These prints are not for sale, but please support these artists by visiting their print store.
- Admiral Ackbar, commander of the Rebel fleet.
- Bossk, famed Trandoshan bounty hunter.
- Chewbacca carrying C-3P0, as seen in the climax of Empire.
- Dash Rendar, introduced in the Shadows of the Empire multimedia project.
- A cuddly yet confused Ewok from the forest moon of Endor.
- Boba Fett, fleeing in terror from some very Sarlacc-esque worms.
- Greedo, ill-fated Rodian bounty hunter.
- Han Solo, having just shot first.
- IG-88, deadly assassin droid, juggling a variety of grenades.
- Jabba the Hutt making faces at his court jester, Salacious Crumb.
- Kyle Katarn, protagonist of the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight game series and thief of the original Death Star plans.
- Brother and sister engaging in some sibling strife over a stuffed bantha toy.
- Mara Jade, Emperor’s Hand turned Jedi.
- Nien Nunb, Lando’s mouse-like copilot during the Battle of Endor, scarfing down some cheese.
- Obi-Wan Kenobi, about to mind-trick you.
- A pouty Emperor Palpatine with a Force Lightning halo.
- Quinlan Vos, a Clone-Wars-era Jedi featured predominantly in comic books. The Sith Holocron he’s twirling is a reference to his many brushes with the Dark Side.
- R2-D2, famed astromech droid, holoprojecting his innermost thoughts.
- Stormtroopers, most likely the clumsiest “elite troops” in cinema history.
- Grand Admiral Thrawn, legendary Imperial strategist, with a friendly ysalamir.
- Ulic Qel-Droma, ancient fallen Jedi from the Great Sith War (4,000 years before the films).
- Darth Vader enjoying a ride in his custom TIE Fighter.
- Wedge Antilles, ace Rebel pilot and leader of Rogue Squadron.
- Prince Xizor, leader of the infamous Black Sun crime syndicate.
- Yoda, Jedi Master turned nutty hermit, holding Luke’s survival lamp.
- Zuckuss, Gand bounty hunter, who often tracked his quarry through meditation.
- All 26 Letters

Nice!!
